Rebuilding our SWO Schools
I understand that there are so many of us that have a story to share. There are many of us that want to help raise support for a story, event, person, or place that has somehow impacted our lives. I've recently experienced just that. Therefore, I want my very first video to help where my story began, in a small town known as Jacksonville, North Carolina. Nothing crazy happens there, if anything it's home to many of our Military and that is something to be proud of. My family and I went through many hurricanes there, but nothing like what I've seen from Hurricane Florence. I graduated from Southwest Onslow Highschool, home of the Stallions! I recently watched a live video tour of my school after Hurricane Florence hit. I can't even begin to describe the feeling of helplessness as I watched these people go into the gym where I had cheered, competed in sports, laughed, fell in love, and grew up. I watched them enter classrooms that were destroyed, classrooms where I gossiped, where I cried over my first F, where I became inspired, and where I met my lifelong friends. But, that’s not the point of this message. What has gotten me through life is my education. So much was destroyed including materials in the classroom that has put these student’s education on hold. We can’t control the uncontrollable, but we can rebuild what we’ve lost. I want to help rebuild my school, OUR school, and raise funds to replace the materials in classrooms that were destroyed. I want Southwest to stay “Stallion Strong” and I want to help the community that helped me grow and thrive because of my education. Please help me share my fundraiser my donating or just simply sharing my story. Although, it’s not just my story, it’s my home. Home of the Stallions.
